I still can't get used to celebrating
Christmas in the sun. It’s just some British traditions don’t translate
into other more exotic cultures or locations. One thing that is always
needed is strong intelligent ideas that create true points of difference
which are not simply borrowed from elsewhere. 2007 has been another great
year for us and I want to thank all our clients who chose to collaborate
with us and hope they have benefited from that relationship as much as we
have. Our team is growing in response to our local and international opportunities
and we are very excited about 2008. Enjoy your holidays wherever you
are in this crazy world. Frostie wishes, Vince Frost |

Frost has recently turned its attention to products
– creating not only surfboards but also the new Brolga Awards trophy.
Featuring Frost’s signature bold approach, the surfboard for photographer
James Cant will be getting a workout in the waves this summer at Bondi Beach.
Frost has also recently completed James’ new mailer and updated website www.jamescant.com.
The new Brolga Awards, designed by Frost for the Northern Territory Government
as their highest tourism accolade, saw Frost collaborating with Fink Design,
who produced the sandblasted aluminium awards to Frost’s design concept.

Frost continues its foray into fashion with the Summer
2007 campaign for General Pants Co. Based around capturing iconic summer
moments, the result is a modern take on the “Summer of Love”. Working
with international fashion photographer Pierre Toussaint, the campaign
is based on a series of raw and edgy black and white images, coupled
with copylines heralding back to the heydays of 60s and 70s psychedelia
and rock. Look out for the campaign during December on the streets
of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, in General Pants stores, and fashion
magazines including Vice and Oyster.

Wanting
to do something new in the world of property marketing, Frost has created
the promotional magazine and website “Trio” for Frasers Property. Just
like a real magazine, the piece opens with a stunning fashion feature with
single models caught in triplicate, shot by James Cant, with interior styling
by Inside Out Style Director Glen Proebstel. Architects Fender Katsalidis
describe their vision for the new apartments – which will set new benchmarks
in style in Sydney’s inner west. The magazine is a good read in its own right
– giving some top tips to living in the inner west. You can pick up a copy
from the Trio display suite (also designed by Frost) at 30 Pyrmont Bridge
Road Camperdown Sydney or download it from www.triosydney.com. |

Most Australians don’t know their geography for the Northern Territory
– putting Kakadu next to Uluru and Darwin in the outback instead of on the
coast. Longstanding client, Tourism Northern Territory, asked us to help
people develop a “mental map” of the NT – our solution has been to create
an interactive map that promotes the key destinations (and is fun in itself
to explore). Check it out at www.news.com.au/travel/australia/nt.
With online taking on more importance in the tourism world, our new
Digital team has also been creating campaigns for promoting Kakadu to an
international market. And did we mention that we have just created an insert
on Kakadu that will appear in National Geographics across Scandinavia, Germany
and the UK.

UK-based visual effects company Glassworks create only the best in video,
with Bjork’s “All is full of love” and Pepsi’s Gladiator ad featuring
Beyonce, Pink and Britney, just two of the award-winning works on their
CV. So when it came time to refresh their identity in line with expansion
plans into Europe, they tracked down Frost. Having created their original
logo 10 years ago, Frost took the previous design and re-made all the
letterforms, also adding a vibrant bright pink and red palette with
a solution that’s as attention-grabbing as the company’s work.
